What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that helps produce homeostasis in the body. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results.
What can Reiki do?
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. It is a wonderful complement to other treatments. We can all work together to get you feeling healthier, happier and more whole. This is the holistic approach.

What to Expect?
I will ask you a few questions in regards to what your intentions are for your Reiki session. You will lie comfortably on a message table fully clothed.
It is a safe environment for you to be able to relax and enjoy the hour of relaxation. I find it better not to expect anything as many have their own experience depending on what their intentions are.
I work on aligning your chakras and then focus on anything that may need some attention.
That’s it! It’s so relaxing you may even fall asleep!
After this initial period of complete relaxation, people often experience an increase in energy that can last several days. It’s different for each person. I do offer water at the end of the treatment and I ask that you stay at least 15 min before leaving if you are driving.
Did you know?
Dis-ease generally begins in the energy field so if we keep our subtle bodies healthy using Reiki, and our physical bodies healthy with good nutrition and exercise, we should be able to remain active and whole.
This type of health care is used as a maintenance system and the best results are maintained when implemented on a regular basis. It is important to remember we are solely responsible for our own personal health and our role as a Reiki practitioner, is as a facilitator in your wellness process.
