Money Poppet Kit
- Description
About the poppet
Poppet is an older spelling of puppet. It comes from Middle English, and it means a small child or a doll. The use of a poppet in modern Pagan practice is a method of sympathetic magic (having an item represent or correspond to another thing). Poppets are usually designed in the likeness of individuals in order to represent them in spells to help, heal or harm. You can make these dolls for personal healing (which we recommend), you may do reiki on the doll, stuff it with herbs (which are provided) as well as crystals if you choose, anoint with oils and so much more… be creative!
What's included: Poppet stencil, fabric, tea light candle, herbs, black organza bag
Please copy these instructions
How to:
- Take the stencil of the poppet provided and trace onto the fabric with a marker
- Cut it out so that you have two identical pieces of fabric
- Pin the pieces of fabric together so they don’t move while sewing
- Sew around the edges using the whip/overcast stitch
- Make sure to leave the head open for stuffing
- Optional: add eyes and a mouth if you desire (do this before stuffing with herbs)
- With the herbs start to set intention as you add them to the poppet
- Fill the poppet with the herbs provided (use a pen or something long to guide the herbs into the legs and arms)
- Close off the head of the poppet
- Hold the poppet and visualize your desire. State aloud that you have fashioned the poppet to aid “____” (state purpose).
- You may place on your alter if you have one, or on a flat surface in a place where you’ll be undisturbed
- Light some candles (we provide a small tea light candle in the kit), and keep your purpose for the poppet in your mind - stare at the poppet and visualize your desires (do this for about 10-15 minutes)
- Store your poppet in a safe place when not using, and you can cleanse or do the last 3 steps again to refresh the poppet
- (if you wish to do things differently - so be it)
